Last few highlights of February

Wednesday 22nd : Sunshine & patchy cloud. WNW 5
A very gusty day around the old pit site produced my first Frog of the year...and a mass of spawn in a small pond on the Eastern side.

Friday 24th : Sunny. NW 3.
Haugh Rd Cemetery - A single Tree Bee was seen briefly nectaring on crocus (my first of the year).

Stubbbin - A significant increase in Frogs and Coltsfoot was coming into flower but not quite fully open.

High St Cemetery - Nice to see Lesser Celandines finally flowering.

Tuesday 28th - Sunshine & patchy Cloud. SW 2.
Garden : The only highlight was a Robin that was collecting fibres from the liner from one of last years hanging baskets.

  1. Great to see the frogs have been getting jiggy with it. As for Tree Bee...I've still not seen a single bumble as yet this year!

  2. No bees here yet either. . . but I'm sure they're here somewhere
